OH!!! AND.................. I finally got an iPod. Yup! Me, who loves all things electronics, never had an iPod. I didn't feel it was really necessary to get one since my cell phone is also an MP3 player. I love that, because if I'm on the train (or wherever) and blasting music, when the phone rings, the music automatically pauses.
Well, I had been kicking around the idea of getting a small iPod (a Shuffle maybe?) for the gym. My phone is a little bulky since it's also a PDA/computer. At the gym, I rarely have a pocket that my phone would fit it, and if i have it clipped on - it's so heavy it pulls my shorts down.
No comments please.
During vacation, my Sister in Law happened to mention that my nephew is selling his because he bought the iTouch. He had the iPod Nano 2GB 2nd generation. It came in the mail on Friday!!! It took all of MAYBE 5 minutes to figure out how to download to it. It helped that I already had iTunes on my computer, so I didn't have to download it.
WHOO HOO!!! I LOVE IT! Also, now that I live in an apartment, I need to be considerate of my neighbors. So, when I want to blast music, I just stick the buds in my ear and blast away!
Ok, dinner is now done. Gonna eat it and get to hooking up my TiVo.

TiVo
My beloved TiVo arrived today!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO excited! It got hit by lightening before I moved and I never had time to get a replacement. Well, I FINALLY called for a replacement a week after I moved and I didn't realize that they wouldn't send me a replacement until I sent the old one back. I realized that after another week of impatiently waiting.
I don't know why they insisted on holding the new one hostage until getting the old one back. I mean, it's not like they gave it to me for free. They didn't even give me the replacement one for free. I paid for BOTH of them!
Anyway - I am going to eat dinner as fast as I possibly can and then spend the next bit hooking it up, having it talk to my cable company, and then reprogramming all of my season passes. I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but there are some shows I love. Jon and Kate plus 8; Little People Big World; House; Oprah; Dr. Phil; Ice Road Truckers; Ghosthunters; Wife Swap; Tori and Dean Home Sweet Hollywood.
YaY!
Happy TiVo'ing,
Brenda

I vanished!
Wow, has it been a busy couple of months. Wow.
To sum it up, I sold the house, went on TWO week long vacations, had to pack the house, and then finally move.
Yeah right. I'm not Wonder Woman after all. I am exhausted. I just got my internet hooked up at the apartment, so I finally feel connected. That, and the cable. Now I just need to replace my beloved TiVo. Stupid lightening.
The closing on the house was supposed to be before vacation to Oregon. I was going to be homeless while on vacation. That closing was put off, yet again. Went on vacation and I began to lose hope that the house would EVER be sold. I've been dealing with the same buyer since April - but since this has all been without real estate, I really can't complain.
A month later he was able to finalize his financing and wanted me out of the house within like two weeks. He was paranoid the bank would change their mind. Poor guy. HE'S been dealing with this since January! Well, since I already had another vacation planned, I agreed to have the closing quickly, but to put off him taking possesion until after I got back.
The movers/packers came last Wednesday and got most of it done. Whew, what a day. I had to go back two more times and then handed him the keys to the house on Friday.
All I can say is, I am now committed to getting more organized and condensing down everything I own. I'm glad I got a storage unit a few months ago, but I still need to go through whats in there. After I finish moving into the apartment and getting rid of more things, I will start on the storage unit. When it's cooler out, haha.
OK, that's it for now - gotta go find the coffee pot. Geez..................

I'm moving!
Wow, lot's to type, but a little time to type it!
I have been hesitant to post about the sale of my house, but I have no reason to believe it won't go through now! YAY!!! I currently own a home that is just too much for me to handle. I am never around to give it the care it needs - especially the property. I have four acres, but only about an acre needs mowing. Well, that's an acre to much for me. Also, the house needs lots of TLC to get into selling condition.
In April, I came to the full realization that I just needed to give it up, and sell it, as is. I felt so much peace when I realized the best thing for me to do was to buy a Townhouse near work. As soon as I was comfortable with that and after looking at a few, I made some phone calls to people who had, in the past, shown interest in buying my house should i ever decide to sell it. My second phone call sounded pretty secure and this week we are going to contract for him to buy it. I am really excited!!
I will then sign a contract to buy a brand spankin new townhouse. I am so excited I can't hardly stand it. I've never lived in a Townhouse before, and never even really lived in an apartment, so I was a little leary. This neighborhood is really nice, and at least no one in on top of me or below me. The best thing???? I will go from a 33 mile commute, to 3. I will save $220 a month just on gas. I hope to also save about $200 a month on a smaller mortgage. Yay!

Star Struck
Ok, pretty much everyone knows my story about me having a twin -- Jaclyn Smith -- yes, from Charlie's Angels fame. During this past market, a coworker mis-took me for her, since I had just walked into the Jaclyn Smith Home showroom and was wearing similar clothes, had a similar hairstyle, same height, same shoe size. She said that at a quick glance, she thought it was Jaclyn Smith before realizing it was me. It quickly became the ongoing joke. Turns out, the next day I had to be her stand in to check teleprompter height, so the joke continued.
Well, yesterday while waiting for the train to Raleigh from High Point, I was talking to a few people at the station and then one woman said to me, "Has anyone ever told you that you look like Natalie Wood?"
Surprisingly, yes, someone HAD told me that a long time ago. I worked for a doctor a number of years ago, and he always said I reminded him of someone, but he couldn't put his finger on who. Well one day, finally, right in the middle of him being with a patient, he comes barrelling out to where I was and exclaimed, "BRENDA!!!! I just now FINALLY realized who you remind me of! You look like Natalie Wood!!!!"
What a riot. I didn't want to admit to him that I didn't really know what Natalie Wood actaully looked like, so I looked her up on the internet when I got home.
For those of you that also don't know what she looks like, here she is:
What do you think? Do you think I look like her?

My Personality!
I recently came across this Personality Test and thought it very interesting! It's pretty right on and I think had the same letters as the Myers Briggs version I did a few years ago.
You Are An ISTJ |
You are responsible, reliable, and hardworking - you get the job done. You prefer productive hobbies, like woodworking or knittings. Quiet and serious, you are well prepared for whatever life hands you. Conservative and down-to-earth, you hardly ever do anything crazy. In love, you are loyal and honest. If you commit yourself to someone, then you're fully committed. For you, love is something that happens naturally. And you don't need romantic gestures to feel loved. At work, you remember details well and are happy to take on any responsibility. You would make a great business executive, accountant, or lawyer. How you see yourself: Decisive, stable, and dependable When other people don't get you, they see you as: Boring, conservative, and egotistical |

Hello!!
OK, I just finished updating my knitting blog, http://howdovelyknits.blogspot.com/, to be able to keep this one for anything BUT knitting.
I can't think of anything to blog about at the moment, so I think I will now catch up on my TiVo and see what my friends at Little People Big World, or Jon and Kate Plus 8 are up to these days.
Check back soon!
